“Rosh Hashanah” – Pastor Jayon C. George

Happy New Year! Rosh Hashanah. Today begins the Jewish New Year and it is my prayer that you will enjoy God’s blessing and favor and have a sweet new year. This day is called Rosh Hashanah – the start of the Jewish new year. Rosh Hashanah (Hebrew: רֹאשׁ הַשָּׁנָה‎, literally “head of the year”) is the Jewish New Year. The Biblical name for this holiday is Yom Teruah (Hebrew: יוֹם תְּרוּעָה‎, literally “day [of] shouting/raising a noise”) or the Feast of Trumpets. The trumpets are blowing in celebration across Israel and around the world as Jewish people are celebrating this wonderful day.

However at the same time, dark clouds are looming as Iran continues doing everything it can to acquire the means to carry out its goal of seeing Israel “wiped off the map.” This is a critical time for Israel.  The Jewish people are surrounded by enemies on every side, and the constant threats and attacks have taken a deep toll on God’s Chosen People. The radical Islamic terrorists who wish to see Israel destroyed are nearer than ever to reaching their goal as Iran draws closer and closer to having nuclear weapons. The deal that was negotiated is a disaster for Israel…for America…and for everyone who hopes for peace and stability in the world. It is no wonder that the Jewish people feel isolated and alone. We must speak out now and tell them they are not abandoned or forgotten. Congress will soon vote on the agreement, and we need to pray that they will take a firm stand for what is right, but we must do more.

I have provided a link below where you can send an email to your senators congressmen to vote against this horrible deal.
